Intensive Russian Strikes Eliminate Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased strikes in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and faced disruption to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has increased assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and applying restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

He said that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles attacked the country's power systems, characterizing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles struck electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from city authorities.

Regional authorities said the urban area experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and several individuals were hurt.

The assaults follow nights of air raids in the region, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The whole nation is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and authorities were anticipating additional strikes.
